Mukteshwar is a tourist destination situated in the Nainital District of Uttrakhand, India. It is situated in Kumaun Hills at an altitude of 2286 meters (7500 feet).
Mukteshwar got its name from the 350years old temple of Shiva situated at the highest point of this town. The climate of Mukteshwar ranges from Minimum Temperature: 10° C (Summer),2° C (Winter) Maximum Temperature :23° C (Summer), 19° C (Winter). So overall the weather remains all the time very pleasant and cool.
Mukteshwar is a natural scenic beauty and gives the enchanting view of Himalayan’s second highest peak Nanda Devi. As it is a hilly area the agriculture here consists of fruit orchards and the potato fields .

Mukteshwar Temple was a home for a very famous Saint Maharaj Mukteshwar ji. His Samadhi was built here as he used to live in temple in a cottage. Still his one disciple lives here Swami Sanshudhanand ji. This is a good place for meditation as it gives a feel of tapovan.
Mukteshwar gives a wonderful view of enchanting Himalayan range like the second highest peak of Himalayan which is Nanda Devi.

Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) is research center and dedicated for the development in this area. It was established at Pune in 1889 at Imperial Bacteriological Lab on the recommendation of Cattle Plague Commission and in 1893 it was relocated to Mukhteshwar.
Chauli ki Jaali is located on a cliff behind the Mukteshwar Temple. After leaning on a cliff you can have enchanting view of beautiful Himalayan range. The original name of Chauli ki Jaali is Chauthi Jaali.
